Thanks for all your entries – the competition is now closed.

Paul posed the question: “Which Quality Street Kid made his Celtic debut in 1968 and appeared at the World Cup finals as an assistant manager 30 years later?”

The answer – and it was a tricky one given quite a lot of entries got it wrong – is John Gorman! John made just one start for Celtic in a 4-2 League Cup victory at Hamilton in 1968 (the same match as Kenny Dalglish made his debut). He moved to England in 1970 but transitioned into coaching and management after his playing career was cut short by injuries.

John went on to become England assistant manager under Glenn Hoddle at France 98, where they lost to Argentina on penalties in the first knock out stage.

The three lucky winners of the signed copy of The Quality Street Gang are Bryan McAuley, Mark Heron and Cat McLoughlin – keep an eye on your inbox for our email!
