Dedryck Boyata joined the club on a four-year deal from Manchester City on 2nd June 2015. The 24-year-old defender became Ronny Deila’s first signing of the close season, ending his eight-year association with the Sky Blues.
Having progressed through the City Football Academy, Boyata made his competitive debut against Middlesborough in the FA Cup in January 2010. This was followed by his international debut for Belguim later that year when he appeared as a substitute against Austria.
Following loan spells with Bolton in the English Championship and Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente, Boyata was convinced to make the switch to Paradise in search of regular first team football.
