Martin Dúbravka, the Slovakian footballer donned the earth on 15 January 1989. Currently, he is a prominent goalkeeper for Newcastle United. Dúbravka began his professional journey with MŠK Žilina in Slovakia's First Football League in July 2009. His debut season was inspiring with 26 appearances for the first team in, progressing to add 24, 8, 26, and 13 appearances in subsequent league matches for the following seasons.
In January 2014, Dúbravka found his new home with Esbjerg fB, competing in Denmark's 1. Division, following an undisclosed transfer from MŠK Žilina. His stint at Esbjerg saw Dúbravka make 14 first team appearances in league matches in his first season, followed by 33 in the next, and 18 in his final year with the club.
By July 2016, Dúbravka found his calling back in Eastern Europe and was transferred to Slovan Liberec in the Czech First League, where he made 28 appearances in league matches in just one season.
In July 2017, keeping his feet within the Czech borders, Dúbravka switched allegiance from Slovan Liberec to the legendary Sparta Prague for another undisclosed fee. His Sparta journey was brief, making only 11 appearances for the first team in league matches for just one season.
In January 2018, Dúbravka got a taste of the Premier League as he was transported, on loan, from Sparta Prague to Newcastle United. During his loan spell, he made 12 appearances for Newcastle in league matches. This was followed by a permanent transfer which fetched around £4m for Sparta Prague in July 2018. Since his transfer, Dúbravka has made significant contributions to Newcastle United with 38, 38, 13, 26, 2, 23 appearances in each subsequent season.
The tale of Martin Dúbravka took an exciting twist in September 2022, with a loan move to Manchester United. His loan expired in January 2023, after which he returned to Newcastle United, where he continues to stand guard between the sticks.
