Yesterday’s Hoople was Andreas Thom. Former East Germany and Germany international striker, Andreas Thom, was born in Berlin on 7 September 1965. Thom joined Celtic from Bayer Levekusen in July 1989 for a fee of £1.5 million, and went on to score 15 goals in 70 league appearances in the Hoops, before moving to Hertha Berlin in August 1995, for a fee of £2.5 million.
