Adam Montgomery is a Scottish born footballer who has primarily featured as a left back during his career. Montgomery, born on 18 July 2002, currently plies his trade for Lowland League outfit, Livingston FC. He's an athletic player, standing 5 foot 8 inches tall (or 1.73m for those favouring metric measurements) and tipping the scales at around 9 stone 6 pounds (or to the continentals, 60kg). He's far from being lost amidst the squad, donning the number 3 shirt for the club.
Montgomery's football journey began in earnest back in July 2009, as a young trainee at Scottish Premiership giants, Celtic FC. He first appeared in Celtic's first team during the 2020-2021 season with two league appearances under his belt, a figure which he improved upon in the following year with eight first team appearances in league matches.
In January 2022, Montgomery broadened his horizons with a short-term loan move to another Scottish Premiership side, Aberdeen, where he took the field on seven occasions. He returned to Celtic in June 2022 and again featured for the first team in Celtic Park. His third season at Celtic saw him make eight appearances in the league.
More loan spells were on the horizon for our lad. He spent the 2022-2023 season at St Johnstone FC, contributing 28 first team appearances in league matches. The 2023 campaign was a busy one, involving two loan stints—one at Fleetwood Town in England's League Two, before a brief spell with Motherwell in Scotland's Premiership. All in all, Montgomery's loan experiences have afforded him not only game time but undoubtedly broadened his understanding of the sport.
In February 2025, Montgomery once again packed his bags, this time for a loan spell at Queen's Park in Scotland's Championship. This move proved fruitful for the lad, seeing him bag a goal from his 12 league appearances. Finally in July 2025, Montgomery bid farewell to Celtic, transferring to Livingston on loan. Thus far in the 2025-2026 season at Livingston, our lad has made eight first team appearances in league matches and managed to find the back of the net during the League Cup, proving he continues to refine his craft.
