Our lad of the hour is Dane Murray. Born on the 26th of June, 2003, our Scottish-born defender has already carved out a notable career for himself at the young age of 22. He's been doing a cracking job keeping Celtic's goalpost safe, mainly as central defender. Standing tall and imposing, Murray measures a neat 6ft 3in (1.93m) and weighs in a formidable 12st 1lb (77kg). He's been given the honour to wear the number 47 jersey.
According to Transfermarkt, the lad's current market value circles around €350k, which would put it right around £296k once we convert Euros into good old quids, rounding up the numbers neatly for you.
The summer of 2019 saw young Dane cutting his teeth at Celtic, joining as a trainee fresh-faced and eager. He spent his formative football years right here, learning the essence of the Premiership during what can be considered Celtic's glory days. In the current season 2025-2026, our boy Murray has shown up on the pitch in league matches five times, making his mark on the Celtic first team.
August 2024 was a departure for Murray. He made the switch to Queen's Park, journeying to the Championship in Scotland on loan. Though accustomed to Celtic's shades of green, the lad rose to the occasion at Queen's Park. In his debut season at Queen's Park, Murray made the pitch his home 18 times, an impressive feat for a first-time loanees in the unforgiving Championship. But as they say, you can take the lad out of Celtic, but you can't take the Celtic out of the lad. Thus, as the New Year dawned in 2025, our boy Murray returned home to Celtic, and the Premiership, completing his loan run.
So far, in the ongoing 2025-2026 season at Celtic, Murray has repeated his previous achievement, gracing the field in league matches five times. It seems the number five is lucky for our central defender this year.
And what a year it has been! Murray has had a taste of nearly everything. He's participated in the League Cup, netting a goal in his only start for the season. He's also tried his boots at the Scottish Cup, starting once. He graced the field in the Champions League Qualifiers with a lone appearance off the bench. And if that wasn't enough, he's also made merry in the Europa League, making three appearances in the tournament, all as a substitute.
