Celtic hero Frank Murphy was born in Gartcosh on 6 December 1915. Died 12 February 1984, aged 68

Francis “Frank” Murphy was a Scottish footballer, who played for Celtic. Murphy represented Scotland once, in a 3–1 victory against Netherlands in May 1938. He also played for the Scottish Football League XI once, in 1936.
