Greg Taylor, a product of Scotland's crisp November weather, was born on the 5th day of that month, in the year 1997. Now 28, this dependable defender dutifully dons the gear of PAOK - his preferred position being left back. The man makes a modest mark on the measuring tape at 5ft 8in (1.73m), and tips the scales at a solid 9st 12lb (63kg). When it comes time to take to the turf, he's easily noted by the number 32 emblazoned on his back. An honour bestowed to few, Taylor has also turned out for the Scotland national team.
Instances of quality defenders springing from the Scottish grasslands are not as common as they once were it must be noted. Taylor however, brings a certain worth to the table. Currently his market value hovers around the £4.3m mark, according to Transfermarkt.
It was in the sweet summer stretch of July 2015 when Kilmarnock, a side seated in Scotland's Premiership, saw fit to take Taylor under their wing. He had his first team debut in the season of 2015 - 2016 with one appearance. In the following seasons his number of appearances grew steadily, taking in 34, 38 and 36 outings respectively, with the final of those seasons marked by him finding the net for the first time. His season, however, prior to his transfer was cut short, resulting in only 2 outings.
Celtic, another titan of the Scottish Premiership, chose to put pen to paper with Taylor in September 2019. This undisclosed fee, an enigma to this day, saw Taylor turn out 12 times in his maiden season at Celtic. His time grew steadily in the famed green and white, reaching 26, 24, 31 and 35 appearances across the 2020 - 2021, 2021 - 2022, 2022 - 2023 and 2023 - 2024 seasons respectively. More noteworthy, in the 2022 - 2023 and 2023 - 2024 seasons he made the net ripple three times in each. Despite this, Taylor saw his appearances dip to 28 in the 2024 - 2025 season before he shipped out.
Taylor found himself transferred out from his settled Celtic life to the sunnier shores of Greece, where he currently showcases his trade in the Super League for PAOK. As of the 2025 - 2026 season, he's been on the pitch for 11 first team appearances, showing his influence remains strong.
Taylor marked his time at PAOK participating in the Europa League Qualifiers and Europa League proper in the 2025 - 2026 season. He was used sparingly, a single start and one appearance as a substitute in the latter rounds, but remained in the squad nonetheless.
