Liam Shaw, born on the twelfth of March 2001, is a spry English midfielder. Currently, at the age of 24, he is seen occupying the centre of the pitch for Northampton Town. Standing quite tall at 6ft 1in (1.87m), he weighs in at 11st 6lb (73kg). The number 29 jersey has been his consistent choice on match days.
Shaw's footballing journey commenced in earnest in July 2017, when he joined Sheffield Wednesday in England's Championship as a trainee. His path towards the limelight was patient, with his debut season (2019 - 2020) rewarding him with just two first team appearances in league matches. However, his contribution grew more significant in the following season (2020 - 2021) when he made 19 appearances and scored a singular goal.
A pivotal turning point in Shaw's career came when he transferred from Sheffield Wednesday to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for a nominal sum of around £300,000 in July of 2021. His tenure at Celtic, however, was not as robust as one might have expected, with only a single first team appearance chalked up to him during the 2021 - 2022 season.
In a bid for more game time, Shaw was loaned out to Motherwell, another Scottish Premiership outfit, in January 2022. He showcased a considerable improvement during this spell, making an admirable seven appearances in league matches.
Despite some unforeseen turbulence in September 2022 when he was loaned to Morecambe in the English National League, Shaw made a commendable effort, recording 28 appearances and two goals.
Subsequently, in July 2023, he was loaned out to Wigan Athletic in England's League One—a mere stepping stone in his journey. Following this, a more permanent settlement was sought, and Shaw transferred from Celtic to Fleetwood Town, playing in England's League Two in October 2024. A rapid development ensued with Shaw making a move to Northampton Town in League One in January 2025 for an undisclosed fee.
