His market value is roughly £85k as quoted by Transfermarkt.
Bain’s career started in earnest in August 2010 with a loan transfer from Aberdeen in the Premiership to Elgin City in League Two. During his debut season with Elgin, he featured in 11 league matches. July 2011 saw Bain moving to Alloa Athletic, where he proved his worth with consistent performances. He made 30, 35, and 35 appearances in the years 2011 - 2014 respectively.
In July 2014, Bain moved to Dundee in the Premiership in Scotland, maintaining his impressive form with 22, 37, 36, and 12 first team appearances in consecutive seasons. The beginning of 2018 was marked by consecutive loan transfers to Hibernian and Celtic in January.
What truly defined Bain's career, however, was his time at Celtic. His first season at Celtic in 2017 - 2018 started on a high note with seven appearances. The 2018 – 2019 season proved to be pivotal for Bain at Celtic as he made 20 appearances. Though following years saw a notable drop in first-team involvement, with two matches in 2019 - 2020, this was followed by 18 in 2020 - 2021, two in 2021 - 2022, one in 2022 - 2023, and finally three in 2023 - 2024. Despite the fluctuation, his stint at Celtic is to be remembered for his dogged determination and unwavering essence of the spirit of the game, something the Celtic faithful would attest to.
July 2018 saw Bain permanently leave Dundee and put down roots in Celtic, from where he then moved to Falkirk in July 2025. The current 2025 – 2026 season has seen Bain take part in 27 matches, and his contribution to Falkirk goes beyond the Premiership, with the goalkeeper featuring in three starts in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 and two starts in the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026.
