Born on the 13th of April 1994, in Cyprus, Alex Gogic is a distinguished football player, well known for his robust performance as a central defender. At 31 years of age, Gogic currently rigidifies the core of the St Mirren's defence. His physical stature, standing at 6ft (1.85m) and weighing 13st (83kg), assists him in his role on the football pitch. He is oftentimes seen proudly holding the mantle of the number 13 jersey - an apposite parallel to his assertive performance on the field. On the international stage, Gogic has brought honour to his homeland, by representing Cyprus in competitive football.
In July 2013, Gogic embarked on a significant journey in his career, when he departed from Olympiacos in Greece's Super League to join Swansea City - a stalwart of the Championship in England. Subsequent to his tenure at Swansea, Gogic switched his club allegiance to Hamilton Academical, a League One contender in Scotland, in February 2017. There, he would begin to make strides in his career. Building on his debut season where he made seven appearances with Hamilton, Gogic bolstered his position within his new club, amassing 18 appearances and scoring a goal in the subsequent season. Notably, in his last season with Hamilton (2019 - 2020), Gogic put up a commendable performance by appearing in 29 league matches and finding the back of the net once.
July 2020 marked the commencement of a new chapter for Gogic, as he transferred from Hamilton Academical to Hibernian - competing in Scotlandโs top-tier league - the Premiership. He made an assertive mark during the 2020 - 2021 season, with 34 appearances and a goal. However, a significant milestone in his career came in January 2022 when he was loaned out from Hibernian to another Premiership adversary - St Mirren. Subsequent to a loan stint extending over a season, Gogic officially transferred to St Mirren in August 2022. Since then, he has been an irremovable stalwart in the team's defence, with significant performances spread across multiple seasons. To date, in the 2025 - 2026 season, Gogic has already made 13 appearances.
Apart from his club duties, Gogic has represented his club, St Mirren, in the League Cup during the 2025 - 2026 season, making a goal contribution in eight starts. Further, his national duty saw him participating in the Euro Qualifiers in 2022 - 2024, with seven starts and a substitute appearance. Gogic also etched his mark in the Nations League in 2024 - 2025, starting in two games for Cyprus.
