Born on the 13th of April, 1994, in the sun-soaked climes of Cyprus, Alex Gogić ansers his name and strides onto the pitch as a stalwart central defender for St Mirren. Tall for a defender, standing at 6ft (1.85m), he cuts an imposing figure that intimidates adversaries, and with a weight of around 13st (83kg), he certainly fits the bill physically. It is perhaps due to these physical attributes that he sports the number 13 for his team. Having also represented his home country, Cyprus, at an international level, Gogić has made his mark in the football world.
His first major move saw him transfer from Olympiacos in Greece's Super League in July 2013 to Swansea City in England's Championship, a significant step-up from his previous club.
In a surprise move in February 2017, he transferred from Swansea City in England to Hamilton Academical, then in Scotland's League One. He made seven first-team appearances during his inaugural season, 2016 - 2017. His presence became more significant over the years, scoring his maiden goal during the 2017 - 2018 season, where he made 18 first-team appearances. Ultimately, he finished his spell at Hamilton Academical in the 2019 - 2020 season, making 29 appearance and scoring one goal.
Gogić then made a move to Hibernian in Scotland's Premiership in July 2020. Over the seasons at Hibernian, he made a significant number of appearances, with the 2020 - 2021 season being his most eventful, with 34 first-team appearances and one goal to his name. His stint with Hibernian ended with nine first team appearances in the 2021 - 2022 season.
Mid-season in January 2022, Gogić was transferred on loan from Hibernian in the Premiership to St Mirren in the Premiership. He initially had a promising run, making 13 first-team appearances for this newly adopted club and scoring one goal. As the seasons rolled on, he continued to make significant contributions on the pitch, with his performances seemingly improving with each passing season.
In August 2022, Gogić made a permanent move from Hibernian to St Mirren. Since then, he has been a dependable force for the team, making numerous appearances and scoring a few crucial goals. He also had a notable presence in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren, scoring one goal in eight starts, and the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026 for the same club with three starts. He continues to impress in the current 2025 - 2026 season, having already made 30 first-team appearances and scoring twice.
Alex Gogić, despite his journeyman career, has found a place to call home at St Mirren, continually making an impact on the pitch and proving himself a vital component within his team's defensive line. His commitment to his craft reflects in his performance statistics, and his strength and resilience echo in every game he plays.
