Alex Gogic, born on the 13th of April, 1994 in Cyprus, is a solid defensive midfielder currently applying his trade at St Mirren. A player of notable stature, Gogic stands at 6ft (1.85m) and weighs 13st (83kg). Wearing the number 13 jersey, he represents not only his club but also his birth country, with appearances for the Cyprus national team.
The 2024-2025 season saw Gogic get off the mark for St Mirren in the Premiership with three starts under his belt. His involvement wasn't confined to league football, however. The midfielder made appearances in the League Cup, the Scottish Cup and the Conference League Qualifiers for his club. Furthermore, his international duties for Cyprus continued during the Euro Qualifiers between 2022 and 2024.
Before his time in the Scottish Premiership, Gogic moved from Olympiacos to Swansea City in the English Championship in July 2013. His time in England was brief, with a transfer to Hamilton Academical in Scotland materialising in February 2017. Over the next few seasons, Gogic would establish himself as a consistent figure in the Academical team, making an increasing number of appearances each season and even scoring on a couple of occasions.
The 2020 season saw Gogic transfer to Hibernian, where he continued to make a substantial number of appearances in the Premiership. Despite this, a move to St Mirren seemed to be a promising option for Gogic in 2022, initially on loan. A permanent move would follow a few months later in August of the same year.
Since his arrival at St Mirren, Gogic has proven to be an important figure, with numerous appearances and a handful of goals to his name. Currently, in the 2024-2025 season, he continues his admirable service for his team with three league matches already played.
