Born on the 13th of April 1994, Cypriot midfielder Alex Gogic currently struts his stuff for the Scottish Premiership side, St Mirren. Known for his work in the central defensive midfield role, Gogic, who proudly wears the number 13 jersey, stands 6ft (1.85m) tall, and tips the scales at 13st (83kg).
Gogic's European journey began in July of 2013 when he transferred from the Greek Super League team, Olympiacos, to join Swansea City in the English Championship. He spent a few seasons at Swansea until February 2017 when he made the journey north to the Scottish Championship side Hamilton Academical.
His initial season with Hamilton was far from easy, with Gogic making only seven first-team appearances in league matches. Over subsequent seasons, he found his feet and played more, making 18 appearances in the 2017 - 2018 season, scoring one goal. His contributions increased in the following years, making 16 appearances in the 2018 - 2019 season, and 29 appearances with a goal in the 2019 - 2020 season.
In July 2020, Gogic transferred to Hibernian. The 2020 - 2021 season at Hibernian saw him make 34 first team appearances and score one goal in league matches. For the 2021 - 2022 season, he had made nine appearances when he was transferred on loan to St Mirren in January 2022.
St Mirren played well to Gogic's strengths; he made 13 appearances and scored one goal in his debut half-season with the club. The next season saw an improved performance, with Gogic making 30 appearances and scoring two goals. As he adapted to the club's system, his performance improved further, making 38 appearances and scoring twice in the 2023 - 2024 season. In the current 2024 - 2025 season, Gogic has made 14 appearances and netted one goal so far.
Apart from his club duties, Gogic has had notable participations in several tournaments. These include starting in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren, participating in the Scottish Cup 2023 - 2024, scoring a goal in two starts, and contributing in the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024, and Nations League 2024 - 2025 for Cyprus with seven and two starts respectively. Additionally, he has started four times in the Conference League Qualifiers 2024 - 2025 for St Mirren.
