Described often as a lethal force at the front of the field, Alexander Isak was born on the 21st of September, 1999, in Sweden. Standing tall at 6ft 3in (1.92m) and a sturdy 12st 1lb (77kg), he dons the number 9 jersey as a forward and primarily plays as a striker for the accomplished squad of Liverpool.
Isak also has the privilege of representing his home country, where he has stripped for the Sweden national team. As of this moment, his market value is estimated to be around an impressive £102m - as reported by Transfermarkt.
His footballing journey began back in January 2016, where he joined AIK from the Allsvenskan in Sweden as a raw trainee, not knowing what his future hold for him. During his debut season at AIK, he made quite an impact. Appearing 24 times for the team, he sent ten balls behind the net, laying a strong foundation in his career.
His performances couldn’t go unnoticed for long and in January 2017, Isak made a significant move by transferring to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga in Germany. This move saw him switch clubs for a hefty price tag of around £7m. However, his first-year journey with Dortmund was a slow one, with just five league match appearances.
Seeking more game time, he moved to Willem II in the Netherlands on loan in January 2019. During his temporary stint at Willem II, he took to the field 16 times and netted an impressive 13 goals.
After his successful stretch in Netherlands, in July 2019, Isak secured another transfer, this time to Real Sociedad in LaLiga, Spain. The transfer fee for this switch was around £5m. Over the next four seasons with Real Sociedad, Isak played in impressive counts of 37, 34, 32, and 2 appearances and had goals tallies of 9, 17, 6, and 1 in each season respectively.
His next major move was to the Premier League in England, where he joined Newcastle United in August 2022, for a staggering fee of around £58m. He had a successful spell with the Magpies, having participated in 22, 30 and 34 matches in three consecutive seasons, recording 10, 21, and 23 goals respectively.
In September 2025, another giant leap awaited Isak. He transferred from Newcastle United to Liverpool for an astounding sum of around £130m. So far, he has participated in three league matches for Liverpool in the 2025-2026 season.
He also had the opportunity to participate in the League Cup and Champions League 2025 - 2026 for Liverpool with one start each and scoring a goal in the former. One can only surmise what the future holds for this talented striker.
