Alexander Isak, born on 21 September 1999 (age 26), is a Swedish striker now wearing the number 9 shirt for Liverpool. At 6ft 4in (1.92m), he is an imposing centre-forward, though his game has never been just about size.
His strongest league campaign so far came at Newcastle United in 2024-25, when he scored 23 goals in 34 appearances. That season did most of the heavy lifting in confirming him as one of the Premier League’s more reliable finishers, without much need for extra embroidery.
In 2026-27, Isak has started sharply for Liverpool, with three goals from four Premier League appearances. He has also made one Champions League appearance, taking him to five appearances and three goals in all competitions for the club.
Transfermarkt values him at around £102m. His career, as it stands, is that of a tall, technically secure Sweden international whose recent record has been built on consistent scoring at Newcastle and an efficient opening spell at Liverpool.
