Alfie Devine, born on 1 August 2004 (age 21), is an English attacking midfielder with Preston North End. His career to this point is shaped far more by Deepdale than by anything before it, which is usually a useful sign that the football has begun to matter more than the promise.
At Preston, Devine has become a regular first-team presence rather than a peripheral prospect. In 2025-26, he has made 45 Championship appearances and scored eight league goals, his most productive senior league season so far. Across all competitions for the club, he has played 48 times, adding one FA Cup appearance and two in the League Cup.
That level of involvement explains why his name has started to travel. He was linked with a move to Celtic in May 2026 while at Preston North End. His current market value is around £5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Devine remains a developing senior player, but his Preston spell is already the clear substance of his career: regular Championship football, a steady attacking midfield role, and enough end product to keep him relevant in the current side.
