Álvaro Morata, born on 23 October 1992 (age 33), is a Spanish striker with AC Milan. His career has moved through some of Europe’s bigger clubs – Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid and Milan – without ever being a simple straight line.
His early senior route was not built on a string of developmental loans. Real Madrid brought him through as a young centre-forward, and his most productive league season came there in 2016–2017, when he scored 15 goals in 26 appearances. That remains the cleanest statistical peak of a career more often shaped by movement, adaptation and expectation.
The later loan spells mattered more than any conventional finishing-school period. Atlético Madrid gave him a route back to Spain after Chelsea, while his return to Juventus on loan kept him operating at a high level and asked for a broader contribution than simply finishing chances. Morata has never been a pure penalty-box striker, which has helped his managers keep finding uses for him, even when the goals have thinned out.
At AC Milan in 2025–2026, he remains a regular first-team presence. He has made 30 appearances in all competitions, with his only goal coming in the Coppa Italia. His 26 Serie A appearances without a league goal are plainly a poor return for a striker, but he has not drifted out of the side.
Morata’s career has been that of an established international-level forward rather than a settled club great. He has played for major clubs, had productive spells, and in Milan remains involved, if not especially prolific.
