Anatoliy Trubin, born 1 August 2001 (age 25), is a towering Ukrainian goalkeeper at 6ft 6in (1.99m). His senior league career began at Shakhtar Donetsk, where he made one league appearance in 2018-19 before his career moved on towards a much heavier workload elsewhere.
That workload has come at Benfica. Across four seasons he has made 92 league appearances, which gives the shape of his career so far far more than the early Shakhtar line ever could. He is not a historic Benfica figure, and there is no need to pretend otherwise, but the Portuguese club has clearly been the main stage of his development as a senior goalkeeper.
In 2026-27, Trubin has made two Europa League qualifying appearances for Benfica. His form this season has been solid, although he has recently been outside the matchday squad; his last appearance came in Benficaβs 5-0 win over St. Gallen on 30 July 2026.
He has also been involved with Ukraine, making seven appearances in European World Cup qualifying this season, while his campaign has included four Club World Cup appearances. At 25, his career is still fairly concentrated: a Shakhtar start, a substantial Benfica spell, and regular international involvement.
