Meet Andrew MacLeod, a sprightly Scottish lad born on the breezy day of 31 January 2005, who has found himself plunged into the melee that is professional football. A bit of a dynamo, MacLeod is known to stalk the midfield with authority, barking out orders and dictating play for Ross County like a seasoned general. This rangy lad stands at 5ft 11in (1.82m) and weighs in at a sprightly 11st (70kg). He dresses for battle in the number 33 jersey, a curious choice that I'm sure has a sentimental story behind it that I can't be bothered to investigate.
Lamentably, like all good things, his stay at Ross County appears to be nearing its twilight. His contract with the club has a lifespan of just six more months and is set to breathe its last on 31 May 2025, casting a dubious cloud over his future at the club.
In a flummoxing sequence of transfers which only Scottish football could spawn, MacLeod moved from Ross County to the redoubtable Brora Rangers on loan in January 2023. Against all reason, he braved the trials of the Highland League before scampering back to the lavish comforts of the Premiership with Ross County in June 2023.
Clearly a glutton for Highland League punishment, he then transferred back to the humble surroundings of Nairn County in July 2023, in yet another loan escapade. In a self-induced Groundhog Day scenario, he heroically returned from Nairn County in January 2024, finding himself, predictably, back in the bosom of the Premiership with Ross County.
Through sheer tenacity or a lack of other options, MacLeod somehow found himself participating in the League Cup 2024 - 2025 for Ross County. His contribution was a startling two starts and two appearances as a substitute, which I'm positive made all the difference for Ross County that year.
Take a bow, son. You're the personified spirit of Scottish football.
