Anthony Gordon (born 24 February 2001, age 25) is an English left winger now with Barcelona. His senior career has been shaped most clearly by Newcastle United, where he moved beyond promise and became a regular top-level attacker. Early loan football formed part of his development, but the substantial body of work came later.
Across four league seasons at Newcastle, Gordon made 111 appearances and scored 24 goals. His best domestic campaign was 2023–24, when he scored 11 times in 35 league games, giving Newcastle direct production from the left rather than just neat running and intent. His current market value is around £55.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
At Barcelona in 2025–26, his league involvement has yet to start, but his European return has been striking: 12 Champions League appearances and 10 goals, which also accounts for his full Barcelona total so far. He has remained in England’s plans too, with five appearances and one goal in European World Cup qualifying this season.
Gordon’s career now has a Barcelona chapter, but the main weight of it remains Newcastle: four seasons, regular league football, and a productive peak in 2023–24. He is still only 25, with his next stage depending on turning European impact into a broader club role.
