Arthur Avom, born 15 December 2004 (age 21), is a Cameroon attacking midfielder whose senior career is already heavily tied to Lorient. He is primarily used through the middle, and while the wider career record is still short, Lorient is where the substance of it sits.
Across three league seasons with Lorient, Avom has made 66 league appearances and scored four goals. His most productive campaign came in 2024–25, when he scored twice in 32 league appearances, a steady return rather than anything requiring a brass band.
In 2026–27, he has made nine appearances for Lorient across competitions, including Ligue 1 and Coupe de France football. He has also been involved with Cameroon this season, making four appearances in African World Cup qualifying and scoring once.
Avom was linked with Celtic in July 2026 as a possible incoming target. His market value is around £17m, according to Transfermarkt.
At this stage, Avom’s profile is straightforward: a developing Cameroon international, established at Lorient, with most of his senior football and progress concentrated there.
