Babacar Fati, born on the 1st of February, 2000, is a Portuguese footballer who currently defends the blue lines of Livingston FC in Scotland's top-tier club competition. At a solid 5ft 9in tall (1.77m) and weighing a sturdy 11st 6lb (73kg), Fati holds his ground well as a left back, with the number 3 jersey as his trademark.
Fati kicked off his senior career in 2022, in the snowy climes of Finland playing for Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK). His maiden season in senior football saw him making eight first-team appearances; a respectable start for the fresh talent. However, the season of 2023 proved a bit of a slump with Fati only marking three first-team counts. Redemption was around the corner, though, with Fati featuring in 25 games and scoring three heartening goals in the 2024 season. He continued his upward trajectory into 2025, with more frequent appearances totalling 29 and another goal to his name.
Fati's current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is sitting around the £300k mark; by no means a dizzying figure, but a nice, tidy sum in any case.
Having crossed the North Sea to Scotland, Fati signed for Livingston FC for the 2025 - 2026 season. So far, he has made three first team appearances. Scottish football aficionados will be keen to see if this lad from Portugal can make his mark in their homeland. Only time will tell.
