Benjamin Nygren, born on 8 July 2001 in Sweden, currently showcases his skills playing as a central attacking midfielder for Celtic at the age of 24. Nygren's footballing journey kicked off in January 2017 when he joined Swedish club IFK Gothenburg as a trainee. The midfielder then made a switch to FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark's Superliga for an approximate fee of £540k in January 2022. Demonstrating consistent performances over the following years, Nygren racked up 87 first team appearances and 25 goals for the Danish club across four seasons.
His journey ultimately led him to the Scottish Premiership, where he joined Celtic for a fee around £1.5m in July 2025. With the current 2025/2026 season still ongoing, Nygren has already made 18 first team appearances and scored eight goals in league matches for Celtic.
