Benjamin Tahirovic, born the 3rd of March 2003, hails from Sweden and is best known as a midfielder who primarily operates in a defensive capacity. Currently plying his trade for Brondby, he is no small presence on the pitch, measuring in at 6ft 3in (1.91m) and carrying a weight of 12st 1lb (77kg). His number of choice on the pitch is 8. Whilst his club career has seen numerous moves, at an international level he is committed, representing the Bosnia-Herzegovina national team.
With a considerable amount of talent, he holds a current market value of approximately £3.8m, as reported by Transfermarkt.
Tahirovic's transfer history is a tapestry of European football, starting with a move in February 2021 from Vasalunds IF, Sweden, to the illustrious Serie A in Italy with Roma. The fee for this venture was a modest £200k. During his debut season of 2022 - 2023 at Roma, he made 11 first team appearances in league matches.
The allure of Dutch football soon called, and in July 2023 Tahirovic transferred from Roma to Ajax for a fee of around £6.5m. Here he had a relatively successful stint, making 26 first-team appearances and netting two goals in league matches in the 2023 - 2024 season. However, during the following season, his role was significantly reduced to just one first-team league appearance.
Seeking more regular football, Tahirovic moved in February 2025 from Ajax to Brondby in Denmark, with Ajax pocketing around £2.3m in the process. His move facilitated more playing time. During the 2024 – 2025 season at Brondby, he made 15 first team appearances in league matches, and in the ongoing 2025 - 2026 season, he further improved his tally to 19 appearances, in which he also found the net once.
Impressive performances led to his inclusion in World Cup Qualifiers Europe 2024 - 2026 for Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he scored one goal in eight starts. Simultaneously, his performances at club level in the Conference League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026 for Brondby also turned heads, featuring in four starts and making two appearances as a substitute.
