Berat Djimsiti, born on 19 February 1993 (age 33), is an Albanian central defender now with Al-Diriyah. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m), he has generally made his living as the sort of centre-back whose value is easier to see over months than in clips.
His early senior work included a strong 2014–15 league season at FC Zurich, where he made 33 appearances and scored two goals. That remains his most productive league campaign in front of goal, though goals have never been the point of his game.
Atalanta shaped the main body of his career. Across nine seasons there he made 254 league appearances and scored five league goals, becoming a long-serving part of a club that spent much of that period operating well above its old station. The loan spells around the earlier part of that Italian chapter helped harden him for the role he later held more securely in Bergamo.
