Bosun Lawal, brought into this world on the 30th of May, 2003, is a native of the Republic of Ireland. This strapping young lad of 22 years has become quite the figure on the grassy pitch, dedicating his skills to the beautiful game of football. Lawal, who currently plies his trade at Stoke City, is recognised chiefly for his defensive prowess in the centre half position. Standing impressively at 6ft 2in (1.9m) and boasting a solid physique of 12st 8lb (80kg), he fills his number 18 jersey quite adequately.
Before his current tenure at Stoke, the Irish international had significantly embellished his career with a couple of transfers to and from Celtic Football Club. In July 2021, Lawal made a significant hop from Watford, a club in England’s Championship, to the glistening highlands of Scotland, joining the ranks of Celtic in the Premiership. Much to our chagrin, the transfer amount remains a well-kept secret, frustrating those desiring to crunch transfer numbers.
After two fruitful seasons with Celtic, Lawal was then sent off to Fleetwood Town, a club nestled within England’s fourth tier, League Two, on a loan deal in August 2023. A year later, in August 2024, he left Celtic to broaden his horizons in England's Championship at Stoke City. The financial details of his transition, however, remain undisclosed, much like his previous move to Celtic.
As a new addition to Stoke City in the 2024 - 2025 season, Lawal managed to leave a significant imprint, having featured in seven first team league matches. This impressive run seems to have continued into the current 2025 - 2026 season, with Lawal contributing significantly to Stoke City's campaign, making 23 first team appearances and even notching up a goal.
Lawal's participation wasn't confined to the league alone; He also partook in the illustrious FA Cup for Stoke City in the ongoing season, earning a start beneath the bright lights of the historic tournament. In the League Cup, the tall defender was granted two starts, further cementing his influence within the team.
In summarising the football journey of Bosun Lawal, we are reminded of his time at Celtic, where he undoubtedly developed and honed his skills on and off the pitch. His stint at the Scottish giants and his subsequent move to Stoke City has allowed him to craft a solid football career that continues to grow with each passing season.
