Brian Brobbey, born on 1 February 2002 (age 24), is a Netherlands striker now with Sunderland, where he wears the number nine shirt. His current market value is around £18.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His career is still shaped mainly by Ajax. Across five league seasons there, Brobbey made 115 league appearances and scored 45 goals, a substantial body of work for a centre-forward still in his early twenties. His strongest league campaign came in 2023-24, when he scored 18 times in 30 appearances.
At Sunderland in 2026-27, he has made six appearances across all competitions, including four in the Premier League, one in the FA Cup and one in the Europa League. He has also been involved with the Netherlands in World Cup action this season, scoring three goals in four appearances.
Brobbey’s story so far is a Dutch striker’s career built largely at Ajax, with Sunderland now the next stage rather than the main chapter. His Ajax spell remains the clear reference point.
