Callum Jones, born on the 5th of April 2001 and now 25 years of age, is an English footballer who skilfully occupies the middle of the park for Dundee as a central defensive midfielder. Jones is not a giant by footballing standards, standing at a fairly average 5ft 11in (1.82m) in height. He makes up for this, however, with solid physicality, tipping the scales at 12st 8lb (80kg). Fans will be familiar with the number 28 jersey, which he habitually dons for matchdays.
According to Transfermarkt, the market currently values Jones at approximately £255k.
Tracing his career backwards, we find Jones at Hull City in August 2019, having made the move from Bury, a team in England's lower leagues. His stint at Hull in the 2021/22 season saw him make two first team league appearances, with further appearances in the following season.
The versatility of Jones' career becomes evident in July 2021, when he found himself transferred to Morecambe in the National League in England on loan from Hull City. His time there was short, as by January 2022, he was back at Hull City, returning for an undisclosed fee.
Shortly thereafter, Jones' career took another turn momentarily as he was loaned out from Hull City to Grimsby Town, a club playing in England's League Two, in March 2022. His loan spell with Grimsby was brief, and he returned to Hull City the same month.
Jones continued to experience the fluid nature of club football. In July 2023, he was loaned out from Hull City once more, this time to Forest Green Rovers in the National League. Jones' journeyman nature is further evidenced by another loan move in July 2024 to Morecambe, the National League outfit he had briefly represented before.
By July 2025, Jones had left England behind and made his way to the Scottish Premiership, joining Dundee. His impact was immediate and impressive, as he turned out for Dundee 25 times, chipping in with a single goal in the current 2025/26 season.
Jones further contributed to Dundee's cup campaigns, representing Dundee in both the Scottish Cup and League Cup, where he made a combined two starts and two appearances as a substitute.
