Born on the tail-end of 1997, Cameron Carter-Vickers is a force to reckon with on the football pitch. An English bloke by birth, Carter-Vickers spends his days as a central defender for Celtic, making ample use of his commanding 6-foot (1.84m) stature and sturdy frame of 14st 6lb (92kg). Whilst he represents Celtic on the domestic front, on international stage he has also donned the United States' colours. As of now, the chap wears the number 20 jersey.
And he's no lightweight in terms of value, either. Transfermarkt places his market value at a tidy €13.00m, which is about £11.5m in our good old British pounds-quite the sum for a bloke of his age.
The lad got his start in 2009, training with Tottenham Hotspur before shipping off to Sheffield United on loan in 2017. He put in a strong first-season performance, with a tally of 17 appearances and one goal in league matches. He then opted for a change of scenery in 2018, spending a loan period at Ipswich Town, again making a total of 17 appearances.
Subsequent loan spells saw him play for Swansea City in 2018/19, Stoke City in 2019/20, and Luton Town later the same season. During these periods, he made considerable contributions, with 30, 12 and 16 league match appearances respectively. Then it was off to Bournemouth, where he made 21 appearances and scored one goal throughout the 2020/21 season.
The chapter of this interesting footy odyssey that is of most interest to our readers, of course, is Carter-Vickers' time at Celtic. In August 2021, amidst the exhilarating midst of the Premiership, he joined Celtic on loan and quickly made an impression on the Celtic faithful with 33 first team appearances and 4 league goals in the season. Further adding to his Celtic legacy, he made his transfer to Celtic permanent in July 2022 for a fee of around £6m.
For the following seasons, his commitment to the cause was unwavering, with a tally of 29 appearances in 2022-2023; 25 appearances and a goal in 2023-2024; 30 appearances and another goal in 2024-2025; and ball-kicking evidence of his continued impact in the current season, with already seven appearances made.
Carter-Vickers' Celtic stint went beyond league matches, with him starting in the 2025-2026 League Cup, the Champions League Qualifiers of the same year, and the Europa League. A noteworthy stint blossoming into a career; Carter-Vickers' story is still being unfurled.
