Craig Beattie, this Scots footballer was born on January 16, 1984, which makes him now 41. Standing at 5ft 11in (1.82m) and 11st 6lb (73kg), he's been a stalwart in the forward position, often playing as a striker.
Joining Celtic in the Scottish Premiership in July 2003, Beattie marked his debut season (2003 - 2004) with ten appearances and one goal in league matches. The following term (2004 - 2005) saw him improve, achieving 11 appearances and netting four goals. Even better performance was to come in the 2005 - 2006 season when he scored six goals in 13 appearances. His final season (2006 - 2007) at Celtic, despite having the most appearances of his stint, proved less prolific with 16 appearances yielding only two goals.
In July 2007, Beattie left Celtic for Championship club West Bromwich Albion for an amount of around £1.3m, marking his entry to English football. He would later go on loan stints to Preston North End, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United, while still under contract with West Bromwich.
By August 2009, he had moved permanently to Swansea City, also in the Championship for a sum of around £800k. While at Swansea, he made 45 appearances over two seasons and managed to score seven goals. During the 2011 - 2012 season, Beattie was briefly loaned to Watford where he scored one goal across four appearances.
Returning to Scotland in February 2012, Beattie was signed by Hearts in the Premiership, followed by a move to St Johnstone. His career then took him to lower league English side Barnet in the National League, before returning to Scotland with Dundee in the Premiership in September 2013.
After a season with Dundee, where he played 18 league games and scored five times, Beattie bounced around a few clubs in the Scottish Championship and League Two. He was with Ayr United for the 2014 - 2015 season, Stirling Albion for 2015 - 2016, and Edinburgh City for the 2016 - 2017 and 2017 - 2018 seasons, before moving to Elgin City in July 2018, his latest club move.
