Talking about his early career years, in July 2014, Barlaser set his first professional footballing footprints with Newcastle United in the Premier League as a trainee. As we travel down his career timeline, in January 2018, he went on loan to Crewe Alexandra in the League Two from Newcastle United. It was a timid entry into first team football with Barlaser making one appearance in league matches during his debut season 2017-2018.
Continuing his odyssey, Barlaser went on another loan spell, from Newcastle United to Accrington Stanley in the League Two in August 2018. Yet another loan ensued in July 2019, as Barlaser landed in Rotherham United in the League One.
It was here at Rotherham United that he found a degree of stability and showed his development. He had a notable stint over two seasons from 2020 to 2023, where he made a combined total of 61 appearances and scored five goals. His performances earned him a permanent move in October 2020, as he joined Rotherham United officially.
His journey continued again in January 2023, when he moved to Middlesbrough in the championship for an undisclosed fee. His stay here was marked by regular team appearances across three seasons from 2022 to 2025, during which he also scored a goal.
His latest venture has seen him travel north to Scotland. In September 2025, he made a loan move to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership. His ongoing stint with Hibernian in the 2025-2026 season has so far seen him feature 12 times in league matches.
