Born on the 22nd of December 2002, David Datro Fofana is a forward who primarily plies his trade as a striker for Fatih Karagumruk. This Ivory Coast native who stands at 5 feet 11 inches (1.81 metres) tall and weighs 12 Stone 12 pounds (82 kg), has shown remarkable promise on the pitch. He proudly dons the number 19 jersey.
In February 2021, Fofana's skills caught the eye of Molde FC of the Eliteserien in Norway. Fofana was duly transferred from Abidjan City in the Ivory Coast's Ligue 2 to the Norwegian outfit for an undisclosed fee. During his debut season of 2021, Fofana made 18 first team appearances. His performance the following season saw him netting 15 goals from 24 appearances, testament to his growing prowess.
The Premier League giant, Chelsea came calling in 2023, acquiring Fofana for around £11m. However, his stint at the Stamford Bridge was not as productive as anticipated, limiting him to three league appearances in the 2022-2023 season.
With opportunities limited at Chelsea, Fofana was loaned to Union Berlin in the Bundesliga in Germany in July 2023. There, he made 12 first team appearances while getting on the score sheet once. His time at the Berlin-based club was cut short by January 2024 when he was recalled by Chelsea. However, his return was brief as he was soon loaned out to Burnley, where he seemed to have steadied his ship by scoring four times in 15 appearances.
After returning to Chelsea from Burnley in June 2024, Fofana found himself in yet another loan move. This time, he was dispatched to the Süper Lig in Turkey, playing for Goztepe. While there, Fofana notched two goals from nine appearances.
Having finished his tenure in Turkey in January 2025, Fofana hopped back to Chelsea, only to be loaned once again. He found himself at Fatih Karagumruk, another Süper Lig outfit. Currently, in the 2025-2026 season, he appears to have found his rhythm, hitting the back of the net five times in 12 appearances.
Despite the circuitous journey, Fofana's perseverance is evident as he continues to make vital contributions to his club.
