David Fernández, born on 20 January 1976, hails from Spain. A forward by profession, he primarily positioned himself as a striker. He stands at 1.72m (5ft 7in) and weighs 70kg (11st). Fernández's career in Scotland began in July 2000, when he joined the junior team at Airdrie. This debut season saw him earn 20 appearances in the first team and score seven goals in league matches.
In March 2001, Fernández transferred to Livingston in the Scottish Premiership. Between 2001 and 2004, he completed 68 first team appearances and registered 11 goals. His most active season while at Livingston was in 2001 - 2002 when he recorded 33 appearances and scored 6 goals.
Come June 2002, the Spaniard was on the move again as he transferred from Livingston to Celtic in the Premiership for a fee of roughly £1.3m. David had quite the stint with Celtic, making a total of 11 first team appearances within seasons 2002 - 2003 and 2004 - 2005. However, during the 2003 - 2004 season, he was loaned back to Livingston where he bagged 27 appearances and 3 goals to his name.
The striker later went on to represent other notable Scottish Premier League clubs including Dundee United after leaving Celtic in August 2005. His spell with Dundee United in the 2005 - 2006 season saw him complete 30 first team appearances and score 5 goals.
In August 2006 he moved to Kilmarnock, where his football career in Scotland continued until 2010. During this period, he played in 82 league matches and scored a total of 8 goals.
