David Watson is a Scottish centre midfielder, born on 12 February 2005 (age 21). His career to this point has been shaped far more by Kilmarnock than by anywhere else, and that is where the substance of his senior football has been built.
Across four seasons at Rugby Park, Watson made 115 league appearances and scored 12 league goals. His strongest attacking return came in 2023-24, when he scored five times in 36 league appearances. For a midfielder still early in his career, that was a solid body of work rather than a passing cameo.
He was linked with a move to Celtic in November 2025, a brief note in the usual churn of transfer talk rather than the main story of his career.
Watson is now with Bolton Wanderers. In 2026-27, he has made one Championship appearance and one League Cup appearance, giving him two appearances in total for the club so far.
His career remains a Kilmarnock-led one: four seasons, regular first-team football, and enough output from midfield to explain why bigger clubs have taken notice.
