Diomansy Kamará, a forward footballer predominantly known for his role as a striker, was born in France on the 8th of November, 1980. Entailing a stature of 5ft 11in (1.81m) and weighing 11st 4lb (72kg), his career was marked by various notable transfers and gameplay statistics over the years.
Kamará's early career unfolded in the Italian Serie B with him joining Modena in July 2001. He made 24 appearances in his debut season and scored four goals in league matches. He spent three seasons at Modena, with each season seeing a small but gradual increase in his goal-scoring record.
In August 2004, he transferred to Portsmouth in the English Championship for a reported sum of around £1m. Here, he made a minor impact with 25 first team appearances and four goals.
Moving to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship for roughly £1.5m in July 2005, Kamará found more success, especially in the 2006-2007 season where he scored 20 goals in his 34 appearances.
Kamara's consistent performance at West Bromwich Albion led him to a transfer to Fulham in July 2007 for an estimated £6m. He spent four seasons with Fulham though unfortunately, his time there was marked by decreased goal scoring, despite making a reasonable number of appearances.
In somewhat of an unusual move, February 2010 saw Kamará transfer to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on loan. His tenure was brief, however, returning to Fulham after making just nine appearances and scoring two goals for the Hoops in the remainder of the season.
Following his short stint at Celtic, Kamará transferred to Leicester City also on loan, where his time was similarly limited. He ended up making seven appearances and netting twice.
July 2011 marked Kamará's move from the English Premier League to Eskişehirspor in the Turkish 2. Lig. Here he experienced an initial surge in his career with thirteen and eleven goals in his first two seasons respectively. Alas, his performance dipped in his final season scoring only two goals despite making as many as thirty appearances.
In July 2014, he transferred from Eskişehirspor to Catanzaro in the Italian Serie B, where he spent two seasons, before retiring from football in the summer of 2016.
