The ripe age of 31, that's our boy Dylan Easton, born on the 6th of April, 1994, in the land of kilts and Irn Bru - Scotland. Playing in the central attacking midfield for Raith Rovers - a decidedly mid-tier squad - he sports the prestigious number 23 jersey. As for this chap's height and weight, he's a decent 5ft 8in (1.75m) and 11st (70 kg); not your bruising centre-back or towering forward, but built enough to hold his own in the rough and tumble of Scottish football.
Easton's market value, a mere £212k, is according to the reliable folks at Transfermarkt, likely not enough to buy you one of those London penthouses or a fleet of sports cars. His contract with Raith Rovers is set to expire on 31 May 2026, a mere four months away. Seems like he's on borrowed time.
Our man of the hour kicked off his football journey with Livingston in July 2011. His contribution to the Premiership squad in his debut season was, let's call it, minimal at best - two first-team league appearances. The subsequent 2012-2013 season saw a whopping increase to four. Aye, not the stuff of legends, I concede.
Apparently uninspired by the mid of Scottish football, Easton switched jerseys to Berwick Rangers in 2013. There he moved from spectator to contributor - 16 first-team league appearances and two goals. But alas, this stint at Berwick Rangers was short-lived. By 2013 he had transferred to St. Johnstone only to be loaned out to Arbroath and then Dumbarton, garnering a pitiful couple of first-team appearances.
Just when you'd think his career was going on a permanent loan itself, Easton decided to settle down with Elgin City in October 2015. He gave a somewhat decent performance there, including three league goals to his name.
But it seems Easton has a taste for the nomad life. The following seasons saw him hopping from Clyde to Forfar Athletic and then onwards to Kelty Hearts, Airdrieonians, and ultimately Raith Rovers in 2022. It's been a veritable tour de Scotland for our man Easton. It should be noted that his time at Raith Rovers has been his most prolific yet, already amassing over 100 first-team appearances and striking 33 goals over four seasons.
His recent records in the League Cup and Scottish Cup tournaments for Raith Rovers are commendable. Five goals in four starts and one start at the Scottish Cup in 2025. Hardly Ballon d'Or-worthy numbers, but his loan days are looking increasingly distant.
Aye, Dylan Easton, the journeyman of Scottish Football, keeps on kicking - quite literally - from Livingston to Raith Rovers. A fair old ride, wouldn't you say?
