Well, let me paint you a lovely little picture about one Dylan Easton. Born on the 6th of April, 1994, this makes him, at the ripe old age of 31, practically a dinosaur in footballing years. He springs from the beautiful, dreary landscape Scotland. He's a midfielder by trade, and he currently scrimmages in the central attacking midfielder position for Raith Rovers, a club of such prestige. At a towering 5ft 8in or 1.75m for those who fancy the metric system, he tips the scales at 11 stone (70kg).
Donning the number 23 jersey, because of course he does, Easton, according to Transfermarkt, is worth a staggering €250k which in good old British pounds equates to about £212.5k. His contract, blessedly, expires on the 31st of May 2026, with only the next season's relegation battle to look forward to.
Our wandering minstrel began his saga at Livingston in July 2011, during which time he put in a swashbuckling two appearances. The following season saw his contribution quadruple to a grand total of four appearances. Ah how the fans must have roared.
In January 2013, he made a move to Berwick Rangers, gracefully slipping down the league tables like a greased ferret down a drainpipe, and in doing so, managed to up his games played to an almost ludicrous 16 appearances. And would you credit it, he even netted twice.
He then relocated to St Johnstone, presumably for the weather, before taking temporary sojourns with the dynamic duos of Arbroath and Dumbarton. You'll be on the edge of your seats to know that during his stint at Dumbarton, he made an earth-shattering 13 appearances. The fans were no doubt inconsolable when he eventually packed his bags.
From here, it was a jaunt to Elgin City then onwards to Clyde where he scored a career-altering one goal in five appearances. From there, it was on to Forfar Athletic and then Kelty Hearts. He left a trail of clubs in his wake like a child discarding unwanted sweets.
By July 2021, many seasons later and no doubt many hairs greyer, Easton had somehow ended up at Airdrieonians, before finally finding himself in the dizzying heights of Raith Rovers in July 2022. Here he has had what one might term a "decent" spell. Over three seasons he's actually managed 101 matches with a delightful 25 goals.
In the current season, he's even scored eight goals in 31 appearances. Truly the Lionel Messi of the Scottish Championship. He also had a delightful little run out in the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for Raith Rovers, scoring five goals in four starts.
In conclusion, dear reader, Dylan Easton is a journeyman of Scottish football, a nomad of the leagues, a vagabond of the pitches. Beware ladies and gentlemen, please try to contain your excitement, Dylan Easton may be coming to a club near you.
