If football careers were a Shakespearean sonnet, Dylan Lobban's current narrative would be stuck somewhere around stanza three. Born on the 26th of August 2005, this twenty-year-old Scots lad plays as a central attacking midfielder for the Aberdeen team. Aye, the same Aberdeen that's located in a realm known as the Scottish Premiership. His height? That would be sitting at a humble 5ft 8in (1.75m). And he carries a weight of 10st 9lb (68kg), but don't let that fool ye into thinking he's any less tenacious on the green.
As for the lad's professional journey into the realm of headers and dribbles, he joined up with Aberdeen as a wee trainee in the July of 2020. Barely a year later, Lobban found himself transferred (or should we say, catapulted) on loan to Formartine United. A club finding its humble abode in the lofty pastures of the Highland League of Scotland in August of 2023. Then, adding a few more layers to the Galoshans of his football journey, Lobban tumbled through the rabbit hole of temporary relocation to land in Forfar Athletic's roster. A club that jousts within the boundary lines of Scotland's League Two.
Like a winter's day thawing out come spring, Lobban retraced his steps back to Aberdeen in June of 2024, officially ending his loan spell with Forfar. Alas, the yin and yang of the football cosmos saw the lad once again roped into a loan transfer. This time he splashed into the pools of Cove Rangers, a showground that perpetrates battle in the Scottish League One. This brief tour of duty lasted until June of the following year. To be fair to the lad, he did manage a stint at the Conference League 2025 - 2026 for Aberdeen, managing to start four times. It's fair to say that, despite all the shuttling around, that number 38 jersey still sits well on the lad's shoulders.
For all the realists and believers, stick around. Young Lobban's sonnet is still being written.
