Born on 17 September 1999 in the great continent of Africa, to be more precise, Zambia, Edward Chilufya has, over time, become a formidable forward for FC Midtjylland and earned a reputation as a principal right winger. At just 26 years of age, his competence has been displayed consistently on the football pitch. As a relatively petite player in the grand scheme, being 5ft 7in (1.71m) tall and weighing 10st 3lb (65kg), Chilufya has never allowed this to be a hindrance. Instead, he favours his number 14 jersey with unyielding determination, honouring his Zambian roots by also playing for the national team.
His prowess in the field has granted him a market value of approximately Β£850,000 as indicated by Transfermarkt.
The journey of his football career has seen various transitions. In February 2018, Chilufya moved from Mpande Youth in the Zambian Second Division to Djurgardens IF in the Allsvenskan, Sweden's top football league, for an unexposed fee. His time at Djurgardens IF saw a steady improvement over the years, with increased appearances and goals in each season. His most accomplished feat was in the 2021 season, with 29 appearances and eight goals.
In a career-defining moment in January 2022, Chilufya took his talents to FC Midtjylland in the Superliga, Denmark's best league, for roughly Β£1.9m. Despite the initial challenges that appear with transition, his notable performance in the 2022 - 2023 season at FC Midtjylland with 26 appearances and one goal demonstrated adaptability and resilience.
Nevertheless, in August 2023, Chilufya was loaned out to BK Hacken in the Allsvenskan, Sweden, where he recorded a total of 19 appearances and six goals. On culmination of the loan, Chilufya returned to FC Midtjylland, becoming a more integral part of the team over time.
Notwithstanding his continuous journey in and between clubs, Chilufya has also had international exposure. He has made appearances in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026 tournament for Zambia, alongside the Europa League Qualifiers 2025 - 2026, and the Europa League 2025 - 2026 for FC Midtjylland.
