Elías Rafn Ólafsson is an Icelandic goalkeeper, born on 11 March 2000 (age 26), and a commanding 6ft 7in (2.01m). His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His development was helped by senior football away from the main stage, most notably at FC Fredericia in 2020-21, when he made 26 league appearances. For a young goalkeeper, that kind of run matters more than a line on a CV. It gave him matches, responsibility, and a base to take back into the next part of his career.
That next part has been overwhelmingly about FC Midtjylland. Across five seasons he has made 74 league appearances for the Danish club, and in 2026-27 he has already reached 18 appearances in all competitions, including three in the Superliga, 10 in the Europa League, and further games in European qualifying.
Ólafsson’s career is still developing, but its shape is clear enough: early senior minutes, then a sustained spell at Midtjylland, where he has become a regular part of their squad across domestic and European football.
