Elie Youan came into this world on the 7th of April in the year 1999 in the picturesque landscapes of France. Now, at the tender age of 26 years, he showcases his footballing talents by carving a place for himself as a forward, predominantly in the role of a left-winger for the Scottish football club Hibernian. Standing at a height of 1.83 meters (about 6 feet) and weighing 78 kilograms (roughly 12 stone 3 lbs), this man plays the beautiful game wearing the number 7 jersey.
In July of 2015, a young, eager Youan set foot on the footballing journey as he joined the French football club of Nantes in the widely respected and watched Ligue 1 as a trainee. His progression was steady but promising, managing one appearance in his debut league season of 2018 - 2019 and five appearances in the following season.
In a surprising turn of events, Youan found himself shifting terrains as he moved on a loan transfer to the Swiss football club St. Gallen in the renowned Super League. His stint proved to be quite fruitful clocking 29 appearances and scoring five goals in his debut season of 2020 - 2021 in the land of the Swiss. The subsequent season also saw him maintain a healthy stat line with 18 appearances and six goals.
His performances evidently did not go unnoticed as he was promptly signed by St. Gallen from Nantes on a permanent basis for a fee in the region of £450k in July 2021. His performance trajectory continued in the same vein, as he registered similar stats as the previous seasons.
Another pit stop in his career saw him moving eastwards on loan to Mechelen in the Belgian Pro League at the start of 2022. Limited opportunities saw him make four appearances during his brief stint there.
However, the winds of change blew yet again as he crossed the English Channel to grace the Scottish lands playing for Hibernian in the Premiership, initially on loan in July 2022, and then in a permanent transfer for a fee around £500k in July 2023. His time thus far at Hibernian has been noteworthy, boasting of 36 appearances and 9 goals in the 2022 - 2023 season, followed by 31 appearances and 5 goals in the 2023 - 2024 season. The subsequent years also saw him take the pitch regularly and find the back of the net on multiple occasions. Indeed, in the ongoing season, he has already made 17 appearances and recorded an impressive tally of 4 goals.
It's pertinent to note that his contributions have not been limited to the league matches alone. He has shown his ability to adapt and perform in various competitions such as the League Cup, Scottish Cup, Europa League Qualifiers and the Conference League Qualifiers while playing for Hibernian. An inspiring journey of a man who started as a trainee and has left his mark in clubs across Europe. Elie Youan carries forward the baton of the footballing world in his unique style.
