Emmanuel Longelo, born 27 December 2000, is a 25-year-old English defender who currently plies his trade at Motherwell. Longelo began his career as a left back and continues to favour this position for the Scottish Premiership side. His established role in the defensive line sees him wearing the number 45 jersey. With an impressive height of 6ft (1.84m) and a weight of 12st 1lb (77kg), his physical presence on the field is not easily overlooked.
As for the financial aspect of his career, Longelo's market value is currently estimated to be around £1 million, a figure that has doubtless grown since his time as a trainee at West Ham United back in July 2016, according to Transfermarkt.
His time with West Ham witnessed him taking the step up from trainee into the professional league. What's more, August 2022 marked a significant change for Longelo, as he made a move to Championship side Birmingham City on loan. During his debut season in 2022-2023 at Birmingham City, he featured in a total of 23 first team matches, even finding the net on one occasion. He played 17 league matches for them in the 2023-2024 season.
Soon after, in August 2023, he made a full transfer from West Ham to Birmingham City for a fee of approximately £400k. The following season saw similar stats, with Longelo making 17 first team appearances. Come August 2024, Longelo was making another move, this time to Cambridge United in League Two, but again on loan.
July 2025 put him on the move again, this time his destination was north of the border, as he transferred from Birmingham City to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership. The fee for Longelo's transfer remains undisclosed to this day.
His current season, 2025-2026, with Motherwell has been promising, with Longelo featuring in 31 first team matches and scoring five goals thus far. His performance extends past the league matches, having participated in the League Cup 2025-2026 for Motherwell, scoring once in five starts and making one appearance as a sub. He also made two appearances as a substitute in the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026 for Motherwell.
