Evan Ndicka (born 20 August 1999, age 27) is an Ivory Coast central defender now with Roma. A towering presence at 6ft 3in (1.90m), he came through at Auxerre before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018, and that is the spell that has shaped his career.
Frankfurt gave him the platform and, in time, he became a regular rather than a prospect. Across five seasons there he made 134 league appearances and scored 10 goals, which is a fair return for a centre-half. His most productive league campaign came in 2021–22, when he scored four times in 32 appearances. That was the period when he looked fully established: reliable, physically strong and comfortable with the workload that comes with being picked week after week.
