Francis Turley, born 14th January 2006 in Northern Ireland, is a 20-year old midfielder who primarily plays as a central midfielder. He currently plies his trade for Ayr United, adorning the number 12 jersey. Standing at a height of 5ft 10in (1.8m) and weighing in at 10st 7lb (67kg), he certainly presents an impressive figure on the pitch.
Valued at £130,000 by Transfermarkt, Turley made the leap from Northern Ireland to Scottish football in September 2022 when he joined Celtic Football Club.
His debut season in the 2023-2024 campaign saw Turley make his first step up into the first team, making his first appearance in league football. Although a trainee, Turley did not shirk from the pressure, demonstrating an understanding of the game beyond his years.
However, in his quest for regular playtime, Turley found himself being shipped out on loan to Championship side Ayr United in February 2026. This move hasn't seen him falter, as within the ongoing season (2025-2026), he has already made two first team appearances in league matches for his new employers.
Thus, even though he left the terraces of Celtic Park, Turley's career has only just begun and it remains to be seen where the midfielder's potential will take him in Scottish football.
