Geny Catamo, born on 26 January 2001 (age 25), is a Mozambique international right winger at Sporting CP, where he wears squad number 10. His current market value is around £13m, according to Transfermarkt.
His route into the Sporting side was not entirely straight. Early loan spells gave him senior football and helped turn him from a prospect into a player trusted with proper responsibility in Lisbon. For a young winger, that tends to matter more than polish.
Sporting is where his career has taken its main shape. Across five league seasons he has made 91 league appearances and scored 17 goals, with his strongest return coming in 2025–26, when he scored six times in 29 league matches.
In 2026–27 he has made four Liga Portugal appearances and scored once, with eight Sporting appearances and three goals in all competitions. He has also remained involved with Mozambique, making eight appearances and scoring three goals in African World Cup qualifying this season.
Catamo’s career is still developing, but its outline is clear enough: early loans helped him on, while his standing has been built chiefly through sustained involvement at Sporting CP.
