Greg Taylor was born in Greenock on 5 November 1997 (age 28), and came through at Kilmarnock before Celtic took him in September 2019. He arrived as a Scotland left-back with league experience, not as a punt, and over time became a far more important Celtic player than some first assumed.
His Celtic spell is the one that shapes his career. Across six seasons he made 156 league appearances and scored six league goals, with his most productive campaign coming in 2022-23, when he scored three times in 31 league games. He was not always the flashiest part of the side, but he gave Celtic reliability, intelligence and a willingness to do the unglamorous work in a role that often asked plenty of him.
Taylor left Celtic in July 2025 for PAOK. In 2025-26 he has made 15 appearances for the Greek club across all competitions, including 12 in the Super League and three in European competition. His current market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His route has taken him from Kilmarnock to Celtic and then PAOK, but the central stretch remains clear enough. Taylor built his reputation at Celtic, played a substantial part over six seasons, and left with the record of an established first-team player rather than a passing squad option.
