Gustaf Lagerbielke, hailing from Sweden, was born on 10 April 2000 making him a spry 26 years of age. He's a tall drink of water standing at 6ft 3in (1.91m), weighing in at an athletic 12st 8lb (80kg), not surprising seeing as the lad primarily plays as a central defender for SC Braga, donning the number 14 jersey with pride. He's also had the honour of representing his homeland, getting caps for the Sweden national team.
Word around the rumour mill suggests Lagerbielke's current market value hovers around £4.3m, according to Transfermarkt, that is.
From humble beginnings in January 2019 at Sollentuna FK in the Division 2 in Sweden, Lagerbielke got his boots dirty and learned the ins and outs of the game. He then hopped over to Vasteras SK in the Allsvenskan in Sweden in January 2021 and then shortly after to IF Elfsborg in the same league in August 2021 for an undisclosed fee. He got his first taste of the big leagues during his time at IF Elfsborg, taking the pitch in various league matches across the 2021 to 2023 seasons.
He shortly transferred from IF Elfsborg to Degerfors IF in the Allsvenskan, Sweden on loan in July 2022. Lagerbielke saw quite some action there and managed to net himself three goals in 14 appearances during the 2022 season. The following year saw Lagerbielke return to his former club IF Elfsborg once more, post the completion of his loan stint.
In August 2023, a monumental shift in Lagerbielke's football journey took place. Celtic in the Scottish Premiership prized him away from IF Elfsborg in Sweden for around £3m, offering our protagonist the opportunity to pit his skills against a different class of opposition. Dressed in Celtic's green and white, Lagerbielke made seven league appearances in the 2023-2024 season.
However, his time with Celtic was fleeting and by August 2024 Lagerbielke found himself loaned out to FC Twente in the Eredivisie in Netherlands. His time there was productive, seeing him make 20 first team appearances and scoring a goal in the 2024-2025 season.
His Celtic adventure coming to an end, Lagerbielke was sold to SC Braga in the Liga Portugal for around £2.2m in July 2025. Lagerbielke has since settled well at Braga, taking the field 23 times so far in the current season, even chipping in with a couple of goals of his own.
What's more, he's not failed to impress on international duty either, donning the Sweden colours in the World Cup Qualifiers Europe 2024 - 2026. Therein, he scored once in five starts and made a solitary appearance as a substitute. Europa League also saw Lagerbielke's handywork during the 2025 – 2026 season where he started 11 matches and contributed as a substitute once.
