Haissem Hassan, born on 8 February 2002 (age 24), is an Egyptian right winger who joined Celtic from Real Oviedo in August 2026 for around £6m. He had been linked with Celtic the previous month, before the move was completed.
His most productive league season came at Real Oviedo in 2024-25, when he scored four times in 39 appearances. That is a useful enough base for a wide player arriving in Glasgow, though hardly the sort of record that demands brass bands.
At Celtic, Hassan has worn the number 23 shirt and made two early appearances in 2026-27, one in the League Cup and one in Champions League qualifying. He has also represented Egypt this season, making two World Cup appearances.
His market value is around £3m, according to Transfermarkt. Hassan’s career to this point has moved from senior football in Spain to a fresh test at Celtic, with his next task plain enough: turning promise and pace into regular end product.
