Ismaila Soro was born on 7 May 1998 (age 28) in Yakassé-Mé, Côte d’Ivoire. An Ivory Coast midfielder, he built his early senior career with Bnei Yehuda before Celtic paid around £2m to bring him to Glasgow in January 2020.
Soro arrived as a central defensive midfielder rather than a headline act, and that was broadly how his Celtic spell played out. His most productive league season came in 2020-21, when he made 19 appearances and scored one goal. He had useful moments, but never quite became a fixed part of the side.
He left Celtic in September 2023 for Beitar Jerusalem. His current market value is around £510,000, according to Transfermarkt.
