Ivan Bašić, born on 30 April 2002 (age 24), is a Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder currently with Astana. A centre-midfielder by trade, he carries a market value of around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His career to this point is shaped mainly by Orenburg, where he made 71 league appearances across three seasons and scored four league goals. His most productive league campaign came in 2022-23, with two goals in 15 appearances, a modest return but enough to show he could contribute from midfield rather than simply fill the shirt.
Bašić is now at Astana, where he has made one Conference League qualifying appearance in 2026. He has also been involved with Bosnia-Herzegovina, making three World Cup appearances and seven European World Cup qualifying appearances this season.
He was linked with a move to Celtic in June 2026 while at Astana. At this stage, his profile remains that of an established young midfielder whose main body of senior work was built at Orenburg, with Astana the next step in a career still settling into shape.
