Jack Aitchison (born 5 March 2000, age 26) is a Scottish striker whose career began at Celtic, where he came through as a trainee before moving on to build his senior football elsewhere.
He left Celtic in October 2020 for Barnsley, a sensible enough step for a young forward needing minutes rather than proximity. His most productive league season came there in 2022–23, when he scored three times in 20 appearances. A spell at Motherwell followed, but it was not the period that fixed the direction of his career.
That has come at Exeter City. In 2025–26 he has been a regular first-team presence, making 44 League One appearances and scoring once, with further outings in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy. Across all competitions for Exeter, he has made 48 appearances and scored twice.
Aitchison’s story remains tied to that early Celtic grounding, but most of his professional substance has been built away from Glasgow. Barnsley gave him a platform, Motherwell formed part of the route, and Exeter is where he has become an established senior player.
